A Holistic Selection Process
Admissions at Marist International College are competitive. We look beyond the transcript. While academic grades are a necessary baseline, we are searching for students who demonstrate intellectual curiosity, resilience, and a capacity for “Service Leadership.” We review every application manually; there are no automated rejections here.
Application Requirements
For Senior High School (Year 11 Entry):
- Academic Transcripts: Two years of previous school reports showing consistent achievement, particularly in English and Mathematics.
- Character Reference: A letter from a previous teacher or community leader attesting to the student’s conduct and attitude.
- Interview: All shortlisted applicants (and their parents/guardians) will attend an interview with the Dean of Students to ensure the family’s values align with the Marist ethos.
For Undergraduate Degrees:
- Domestic Applicants: University Entrance (UE) via NCEA Level 3, or distinct achievement in CIE/IB curriculums.
- International Applicants: An overall IELTS score of 6.0 (with no band lower than 5.5). Equivalent TOEFL or PTE scores are accepted.
- Portfolio (Design Only): Applicants for the Bachelor of Creative Technologies must submit a digital portfolio containing 10-15 pieces of original work. We are looking for process and ideation, not just polished final images.
For Postgraduate Studies:
- A recognised Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a B- Grade Point Average (GPA) or higher.
- CV/Resume detailing relevant work experience.
- A 500-word “Statement of Intent” outlining research interests and career goals.
